Sales Leadership Team

James Veness: General Manager Wholesale & Channels

James Veness
James Veness joined Nextgen Group in July 2014. Prior to this appointment, James has held several senior sales positions with AAPT including General Manager of Alliances, Carrier and Media where he led an experienced team in the development of new business models across the three channels.

James has also managed teams within British Telecom (BT) Media and Broadcast as Sales Director. In addition he has held a number of key roles in both finance and strategic sales, including Financial Controller, Head of Strategic Sales & Operations and Sales Director. With more than nine years’ experience at senior management level, James has expertise in managing large cross-functional teams, negotiating key contracts and complex bids, as well as developing senior client relationships.

Peter Hocking: Head of Carrier and ISP Sales

Peter Hocking
Through over 10 years of sales leadership experience, Peter has developed strong leadership and management capabilities coupled with the ability to develop high performing teams. By combining his authentic and passionate leadership styles, with experience across direct and in-direct sales channels, Peter brings a proven track record of delivering year on year growth targets, managing and negotiating key customer contracts and bids, developing multi-tiered relationships and managing effective sales teams.

Prior to joining Nextgen Group, Peter established the International Carrier business unit within AAPT with responsibilities for servicing the international and large domestic carrier markets.

Peter has several qualifications with a Bachelor (Hons) Degree from University College London and Post Graduate qualifications in Business Transformation from University of Queensland.
